Stolen From: Stolen from Hollywood Trader Joe’s at 4121 NE Halsey. It was parked in the bike area with a cable and kryptonite U-lock. Cable was clipped and lock left. NOTE: TJ’s does not have camera surveillance in this area but employees encouraged me to contact the manager to suggest it would be a good idea. Others may want to contact manager also with this request as the first question the police asked was whether there was a camera.

A man was hit by a blow dart while riding on Sauvie Island, a popular cycling destination just 17 miles north of downtown Portland. The reader who shared their story with us said the incident took place last Sunday (8/4) at about 11:20 am.
Here’s more from “DF” (he wanted to remain anonymous):
“I was biking southbound on Sauvie Island Road, maybe a hundred yards from the Cracker Barrel Grocery Store heading to the bridge (map), when I felt a sharp pain, like a bee sting but more painful, in my lower back. I slowed down and pulled off the road, and discovered that a five-inch metal dart was lodged in my back. I immediately removed the dart and called 911. A Multnomah County Sheriff’s Deputy was there within minutes. He told me that the dart had come from a blow gun, and said that he would be investigating this incident as an assault.”
On Friday, the Columbia River Gorge put its best face forward, and the timing couldn’t have been better.

Maintains and configures end-user workstation operating systems and software. Responds to immediate computing issues within the company via phone, a bug-tracking system, email and in-person. Performs routine maintenance on hardware and end-user software. Works independently on IT-related projects as assigned.
One year IT support experience required including knowledge of automating client administration. Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills required. Documentation skills are critical. Experience with physical and logical network management, Mac OS X, Apple Remote Desktop, LDAP/OD and Workgroup Manager is strongly desired.
