The Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, or OBPAC, is an eight-member committee appointed by the governor that acts as a liaison between the public and Oregon Department of Transportation. It advises ODOT in the regulation of bicycle and pedestrian traffic, the establishment of bikeways and walkways, and other statewide bicycle and pedestrian issues. The committee meets six times a year in various locations around the state to support implementation of the Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and listen to the views and concerns of interested citizens, local officials and ODOT staff.

The Quarterly Trails Forum is a peer-to-peer exchange of knowledge and ideas about planning, building, promoting and enjoying trails.

Do you work on trails or active transportation projects as an advocate, civil servant, or consultant? Do you enjoy riding your bike, hiking, horseback riding or paddling? Metro’s Quarterly Trails Forum is designed for you to network with fellow trail enthusiasts and learn about resources to help bring more trails to your community. For more than 30 years, Metro has convened these gatherings as a way to support each other’s work by fostering connectedness, collaboration and information sharing.

Membership

The Quarterly Trails Forum is inclusive and informal by design. There is no charter or membership roster. The general public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Participation in the Quarterly Trails Forum does not require any special qualifications or affiliations.

TV Highway has a long history of safety concerns as well as loads of potential, including plans for high capacity transit. Join Oregon Walks and Unite Oregon to learn more about the future of TV Highway!

We’ll have a walk and then potluck. Get to know neighbors and plans for the corridor. See you there!

Meet at Shute Park at 10 am.

Walk  will be ~1 mile up TV Highway with a short bus ride back on the 57 to Shute Park.

Rally for Inner East Side for All

On Thursday, September 25th, Portland City Council’s Climate, Resilience and Land Use Committee will be discussing the results of the City’s Inner East Side infrastructure assessment.

Join us outside City Hall (1221 Southwest 4th Avenue) for a rally to make our voice heard: the Inner East Side has room for more housing options & new neighbors!

Rally starts at 8:45am and the city council meeting starts at 9:30am. We’d love to have you at both!

We’re excited to welcome you to the first public meeting of the Sustainability and Climate Commission on Thursday, Sept. 18. It goes from 6 – 8 p.m. as an in-person and virtual meeting.

The meeting will open with public comment, followed by a briefing on Portland’s new form of government.

Keith Wilson will then give opening remarks and the Commission will work on other procedural duties.
