Fat Tire Farm – Hood River is looking for an experienced mountain bike mechanic to work in our Hood River location. Responsibilities include managing the rental/demo fleet, customer repairs, and providing excellent customer service. Candidates should be self-starters and have at least 2 years shop experience as a mechanic. This is a full-time, year-round position with excellent pay and benefits.

You can tell ODOT what to do with their I-5 Rose Quarter project on new advisory committee

Left to their own devices, the Oregon Department of Transportation would already be deep into the design and pre-construction phase of their I-5 Rose Quarter project right now. But because of their own hubris and blind ambition to “deliver” freeway expansion mega-projects at any cost and consequence, ODOT’s boss has forced them to delay.

On January 24th, the Oregon Transportation Commission published a memo (PDF) with 11 actions ODOT must take, “to more fully involve the community in decisions around the project and better evaluate alternatives to help reconnect the Albina community.” One of those actions is to create a community advisory committee. ODOT opened the application period for that committee on Wednesday.

Sellwood Cycle Repair is seeking a full-time bike mechanic. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of professional experience working on all styles of bikes with a focus on high-quality repairs. Bicycle and merchandise sales are required as needed, although this is not a primary role. We emphasize a commitment to excellent customer service and positive communication with an ability to work with anyone, co-workers and customers alike. Availability on Saturdays is a must. Pay rate is competitive and is based on experience. Benefits include medical, vision and dental insurance.
