Saturday kicks off several days of warm and dry weather, just in time for the weekend. The Handmade Bike & Beer Festival returns Friday and Saturday, cyclocross takes over Alpenrose Dairy all weekend, and a cool collaboration between neighborhood businesses in the Gateway District will benefit the Dirt Lab at Gateway Green on Saturday. Friday, October 7th
Handmade Bike & Beer Festival – 5:00pm North Warehouse (723 N. Tillamook)
The two-day Handmade Bike and Beer Festival returns for its ninth year. This collaboration between the Oregon Bicycle Constructors Association and the Oregon Brewers Guild brings together dozens of builders and brewers for a family friendly celebration of homegrown bikes, parts, and beer. Including DiNucci and Breadwinner Cycles, and Baerlic and Base Camp Brewing, and more. Saturday, October 8th
River City Bicycles Cross Crusade #1 – All day at Alpenrose Dairy
It’s the first race of the much-anticipated River City Bicycles Cross Crusade series out at Alpenrose. Camping and a hotel block have been setup for those driving in, or just too excited to go home in between. Full logistics and event info, including series info here.

Bikes and Beer in Gateway – 12:00pm Gateway Brewing / Outer Rim Bicycle Shop (10625 NE Halsey St.)
The 205 bike path will drop you off at this collaborative beer garden. Your pints will go to support the Dirt Lab crowdfunding effort at Gateway Green. Learn more here.
Fundraiser Party for Dan America – 8:00 pm at Eagle Eye Tavern (5836 SE 92nd Ave)
One of Portland’s more colorful bike scene characters has fallen on hard times and needs the community’s help! Friends of Dan America are throwing him a big party to help raise money for cancer treatment expenses. The shindig is shaping up to be a huge bucket of fun and lots of great auction prizes have been lined up — including a famous tall bike Dan built and other rare Portland bike-cultural items. Sunday, October 9th
River City Bicycles Cross Crusade #2 – All day at Alpenrose Dairy

Bike the Levees – 10:00 am at Multnomah County Drainage District (1880 NE Elrod Drive)
Take a relaxing spin on Portland’s levee system on this ride led by the Multnomah County Drainage District and the Columbia Slough Watershed Council. The ride is currently full but you can still get on the waiting list in case someone backs out. Learn more here.
