If you weren’t in the holiday spirit before this weekend, you pretty much don’t have any choice now. We’ve got several fun and spirited rides that will have you embracing the yuletide cheer with each pedal stroke. Just don’t forget your rain gear!

Friday, December 18th

Dropout Bike Club Monthly Ride – 9:00 pm at Colonel Summers Park (SE Belmont & 20th)
Join your friendly local freak bike club for a romp through the city on cool homemade contraptions. Get ready to party and have fun! More info here.

Nutcase Helmets Warehouse Sale – 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Nutcase HQ (1100 SE Division)
Need to do some Christmas shopping? Nutcase is having its first-ever blowout sale. They’ll be clearing out overstocked and discontinued items helmets as well as cool accessories like visors, ear pads, messenger bags, t-shirts, and more. Beer will be served and each helmet purchase comes with a free gift. More info here.

Saturday, December 19th

Pay it Forward Xmas Ride – 4:00 pm at River City Bicycles (706 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd)
Local cycling team Hammer Velo invites you to join them in a ride that helps local families in need. In partnership with Doernbecher Childrens Hospital, the team has raised money to buy gifts for nearly a dozen local families and they’ll ride to their doors and deliver the good cheer. Riders to the Stars – 4:00 pm at Ikea (10280 NE Cascades Parkway)
Get in the holiday spirit on this ride to see the “over-the-top” lights on a cluster of houses on the north side of the Columbia River off I-205. One street is famous for the RGB Stars display which is a dazzlingly choreographed LED light show. More info here.

Sunday, December 20th

Bike Milwaukie Holiday Ride – 9:30 am at Milwaukie City Hall (10722 SE Main)
Milwaukie bike lovers and advocates invite you to their last group ride of 2015. It’s an annual tradition where they ride from Milwaukie north to OMSI along the Springwater Corridor path while the big Holiday Steam Train is running. Bring cookies to share and a mug for hot cider or coffee. Bring the kidddos! More info here.

Kidical Mass Ride to Peacock Lane – 5:00 pm Tidbit Food Farm & Garden (SE 28th Place & Division)
Light up your bike, don your antlers, and join this festive family ride. The plan is to meet up in southeast and ride two miles to the light displays at Peacock Lane (it’s a Portland tradition!). More info here.
