THE OPPORTUNITY

LifeCycle Adventures seeks a full- or part-time Sales & Marketing manager to work as part of the leadership team for the company. The position is likely to suit someone with corporate experience in this function who is looking for greater control and flexibility of their work-life in an industry they care passionately about.

The candidate would benefit from being based in either Portland or the San Francisco Bay Area.

LifeCycle Adventures operates self-guided and private-guided bike tours in California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington for all levels of rider. LifeCycle Adventures is a small, employee-owned company where all those working in the company share in the profits of the company. Typically, we work out of our homes and have flexible work schedules. It is also important to us that we have fun doing it.

Company revenues grew 37% in 2013 and 16% in 2012. The company will begin operations in the San Juan Islands in Q2 2014 and plans to start developing European destinations in Q3 2014.

JOB PURPOSE

1. To increase both sales and margins through more effective sales & marketing

2. Work as an integral part of the team; helping out in other areas as needed to meet peak workloads and offering ideas and support to other managers.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze the marketing activities of our business (sales – product mix – customer profile –demographic etc.) to propose effective ideas on:

– Product positioning,
– Channels to market,
– Sales approach.

Develop, manage and implement creative and effective annual marketing plans. Marketing plans to include – advertising, sales promotion, public relations, product development, pricing, social media and web strategy.

Manage and work hands-on with the sales team.

Keep effective control of budgets.

Manage and develop systems needed to market & sell effectively.

Report directly to CEO.

Work as part of the overall management team for the company.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

– Background in retail marketing
– Social media, SEO, PPC and website marketing
– Good writing & graphics skills
– Managing external firms to deliver effectively
– Enjoy both managing and doing
– Work in a small partnership/member organization
