Alta seeks to add a Systems Administrator in our Portland office. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for providing support on all aspects of the IT infrastructure including servers, desktop/laptop pc’s, routers, printers, VOIP phone systems, networking and video conferencing equipment while at the same time having the customer service skills necessary to provide 1st class desktop support to the Alta staff both local and remotely. This position will also be responsible for assisting in the development of the IT Budget and managing all IT vendors.
Preferred Skills
• 3 years supporting Windows Servers (Server 2008 experience preferred) including management of AD, GP, and print/file sharing
• Experience with VMware vSphere
• Knowledge of VOIP phone systems (3com preferred)
• Experience with SonicWall Firewalls and/or managing multiple IPSec VPN connections
• Experience providing desktop support to remote users
• Experience using Google Apps for Business
• Knowledge of LiveSize Video Conferencing equipment
• Knowledge of shared licensing systems (specifically for ESRI and AutoDesk products)
Bonus Skills
• Experience developing an IT budget
• Experience supporting ERP systems
• Experience with Dell PowerVault NAS equipment
• Experience with Netgear NAS equipment
Other Important Information
We are a small company with a small IT staff, interpersonal skills are a must! You will be providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support. Interacting well with the staff is as important as interacting well with the servers. If you don’t like providing desktop support please don’t apply.
Some travel (2-3 short trips per year) is required.

Salary range $45,000 to $50,000
