Friday, June 4th
Ongoing through Sunday: Mt Hood Cycling Classic
Head out to Hood River and the Gorge to take in all the great racing action.
All day: Oregon Bike Summit
This is the event for statewide bike advocates and anyone who wants to get involved with making Oregon the #1 state for biking in America.
6:00 – 9:00pm: First Friday Art By Bike
Pedal Bike Tours is leading this free bike tour of three art galleries in Southeast Portland.
7:00pm: Bike Film Screening at Suzette Creperie
Suzette on NE Alberta is showing several bike movies this month. Friday’s screening is of the classic Breaking Away.
Saturday, June 5th
7:00am: Pioneer Century
The annual signature century ride from Portland Wheelmen Touring Club. Enjoy fine riding in the Willamette Valley on a number of loop options. Lunch stop features gourmet cooking of Mr. Chris King.
9:00am – 1:00pm: Cycle The Well Field
Join City of Portland Water Bureau and the Columbia Slough Watershed Council for a tour through Portland’s groundwater protection area. This ride has been going on for years and always gets high marks from attendees.
7:00pm: Wend Magazine Release Party (to benefit Northwest Trail Alliance)
Portland based outdoor magazine Wend has been revamped. To celebrate they’re throwing a party with donations benefiting the Northwest Trail Alliance.
5:00pm: Alice Awards and Auction
The BTA’s big annual fundraiser. It’s already sold out but stay tuned for a recap and photos on Monday.
6:00pm: Too Po’ Fo’ Alice Community Potluck
This is the grassroots event put together for folks who couldn’t afford the $100 ticket price of the BTA’s Alice Awards. There will be a gathering, a ride, and awards will be given out.
Sunday, June 6th
What? Nothing big planned on Sunday? This can’t be!

Sunday, June 6, meet at noon at Peninsula Park Rose Garden (N. Ainsworth between Albina and Commercial).
Bring your best steel, lugs, shellacked grips and twine-wrapped bars and show them off!
Urban ride at super-mellow pace, enjoying the best of eastside roses in bloom.
Ride concludes at an inner-eastside pub so bring money for beer and eats.
Carbon-fiber bikes will be put out of their misery on sight.
