Starting today, shoppers at People’s Food Co-op (3029 SE 21st Ave.) who arrive by bike, foot, or transit don’t have to worry about how they’ll get all their groceries home.
That’s because the Portland Pedal Power Bicycle Delivery Service will make free home deliveries (tips are welcome of course).
The idea was first hatched by Neil Robinson who wanted to assist customers that weren’t able to leave their homes. Once he heard that co-op members Kwah Waadabi and Ken Wetherell also wanted to do a bike delivery service, they decided to pool their resources and launch Portland Pedal Power.

The changes keep coming at the Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA).
According to the BTA’s Interim Executive Director Scott Bricker they’re set to hire former Lake Oswego City Councilor Karl Rohde to the newly created position of Interim Governmental/Public Affairs Director.
Rohde will become the BTA’s main lobbyist in Salem, taking over the role left vacant when former policy director Scott Bricker was appointed their Interim Executive Director last week.

I know it’s early but I’m excited to share the news that thanks to the hard work of BikePortland volunteer Lanette Noble, we’ve confirmed a venue and date for the third annual BikeCraft Faire!
This year’s event will be on November 15 at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall in northwest Portland (1945 NW Quimby).
For the uninitiated, BikeCraft is the bike-lover’s bazaar that features local vendors selling handmade, bike-themed arts, crafts, films, textiles, jewelry, and more.
It’s simply the best place to take care of holiday shopping for all the bike lovers on your list (or just score some great stuff for yourself).
This month’s Last Thursday on Alberta was notable for several reasons: the clowns, the cops, and the crowds.
First and foremost, it was the last month in a long run of action at the Alberta Street Clown House (they’re moving soon). By the time I left (just before sunset), the yard was already filling up and judging from these naked bike jousting photos on Dingo’s blog, it looks like they had a fitting send-off.
