The end of the Clown House

@ The Clown House NE Alberta and 25th.

Dingo says:

“Come over today and hang out with us, at dusk we murder the Clown House set, stage and big props, we will be cutting down the high wire poles and assaulting the whole shebang.

Bring fun stuff if you like, buy a shirt, have some food, hang out.

I was trying to think of a way to go out with some class and the best I came up with was taking an ax and bashing all our stuff to pieces, It makes perfect sense…It’s my birthday!

I imagine if enough folks turn out I will have to play some tunes and the rest of the gang will fall into a show.”

Multnomah County has just released their third Sellwood Bridge survey (for background on the project, see this post).

Here’s the word from their Public Affairs office:

“An online survey offered through September 9 (at SellwoodBridge.org) lets the public choose up to two preferred alternatives for replacing or rehabilitating the 81-year-old structure. Survey results will be considered by a community task force and committee of elected officials that will choose up to four alternatives for further study this fall.

…The current online survey will gather public input before the next project milestone, when up to four alternatives will advance for further study in the draft Environmental Impact Statement.”

If you tried to park your bike at the recent Waterfront Blues Festival or the Bite of Oregon (after Bridge Pedal), you might have expected the BTA to be there, providing free valet bike parking like they have in years past.

But many people have been surprised to not find the BTA at these events. Here’s what one commenter had to say about their experience with the (lack of) secure bike parking at the Bite of Oregon last weekend:

“My one gripe: the “secure” bike parking wasn’t. The last couple of years, the BTA staffed the bike parking nearest the Salmon Street Fountain… This year, no staff. Just a roped-off area with the traffic barricades set up to lock bikes to. Not many people utilized this area… Oh well.”
