I never realized Cycle Oregon had its headquarters right here in North Portland. I visited them today to talk top secret business stuff and was impressed by what I saw. I especially liked this nifty bike rack.
Here’s a photo of their top guy, Jerry Norquist (thanks for lunch!). He’s been in the bike industry (Specialized, Trek) for over 30 years and brings some serious vision and connections to his position.
Cycle Oregon has all sorts of exciting things up their sleeves and you can count on hearing much more from them in the coming months. For starters, you might want to check out their big kick-off party at the Portland Art Museum on February 7th. They’ll be announcing this year’s route and from what I hear it’s a good place to hob-nob with high powered bike folks. Oooh such fun.
Thanks for reading.

i used to ride by this place on my way downtown all the time. though, i never thought to stop by.
I have some ralatives in Germany who are interested in signing up to ride in cycle Oregon in 2007.
How can they register? Is there a web site they can use.
Thanks, Jim
Hi Jim,
At this point, registration for the ’07 ride is not yet available. My advice is to stay tuned to the Cycle Oregon website for announcements. You can also sign up for their newletter.
