Friday, April 23rd
4:00 – 6:00: Northwest Trail Alliance Trail Fest – Day 2
Join local off-road riding advocates for a leisurely and educational mountain bike ride at Powell Butte with IMBA’s Executive Director Mike Van Abel, followed by a post-ride social at Hopworks Urban Brewery.
10:00pm: Freak Friday Presented by North Freak
North Freak’s monthly ride. Open to everyone, “with an emphasis on freak bikes, jousting, and various other shenanigans.”
Saturday, April 24th
9:00am – 2:00pm: Northwest Trail Alliance Trail Fest Day 3
The fest travels to Sandy Ridge for a trail care party and then a guided discovery ride on the popular new mountain bike trail network.
10:00am – 4:00pm: Bicycles for Humanity Collection Event
Help Portlander Jenny Leonard collect 400 used bikes to send to school kids in rural South Africa — many of whom walk hours each way just to get to class. Learn more about this event in this article we published a few days ago.
10:30am: Wanderlust Men’s Cycling Ride
A weekly, relaxed and conversation ride to explore Portland’s neighborhoods…and it’s just for men. “We use bicycles as the best way to see the city. We explore neighborhoods. We have fun. And we like a good lunch.”
Sunday, April 25th
9:00am – 3:00pm: Northwest Trail Alliance Trail Fest – Final Day
Several ride options to choose from followed by a social gathering for drinks and food at Cornelius Roadhouse. Click link above for full details.
10:00am – 1:00pm: Family Bike Repair Class
Local non-profit BIKEmpowered is offering this 3-hour class for parents and children to learn bike repair together. Ages 8 – 15 recommended. Class is $40.
11:00am – 2:00pm: Move By Bike
Help Portland artist Shawn Granton move by bike seven miles from NE to Montavilla.
11:00am – 1:00pm: Earth Day Ride
Ride starts from Laurelhurst Park duck pond. A slow-paced ride to “celebrate the beautiful planet we call home.”
1:00pm – 2:30pm: Garden by Bike – Throw Seedballs!
“Imagine an eyesore empty lot transformed into a native flower, food, or hardy plant paradise. On this ride we will take readymade seedballs (clay+soil+seeds) and throw them into inner SE/NE vacant spots zones.”
2:00 – 4:00 pm: Women’s Track Clinic
This class is This class is designed for the beginner woman who wants to learn to ride a fixed gear bike while navigating the banked track at Alpenrose. Show up at 1:30 if you need to borrow a bike for the day.
9:00pm: Zoobomb!
