Stolen Cannondale Unknown
So, if anyone sees someone on a dark blue/shimmer cannondale frame with a silver glitter deteriform (I dont know, its a local band, I’m not from here) sticker on the top tube, right side, it’s stolen. The handle bars are drop and wrapped with bicycle inner tubes and turns the thiefs palms black. Ghetto single speed, only one back brake. A friend let me borrow the bike while I’m in town and it fucking SUCKS that it is stolen (ya know, it becomes my fault.)
Stolen from the backyard of 33 NE Cook Ave during a show. Also stolen with a LOCKED bike and a shitty, brakeless, orange raleigh. Who the fuck would want these junkers? Don’t fucking know.

On-street bike parking a reality on Belmont
Back in February I shared the news about an effort to bring two new on-street bike parking “corrals” to SE Belmont.
This morning, PDOT crews began the installation! Here are a few photos sent to me by Bill Stites, who has been instrumental in making this happen:

Vehicular homicide bill introduction more strategy than substance
I was surprised last week when Senator Floyd Prozanski introduced a vehicular homicide bill (SB 1058) with just a week left in the session. Knowing how long it takes to push a bill through the system, it was obvious the bill had no chance of passing.
So what was the point? I wondered the same thing. Luckily, this site is read by some very smart people. One of them is regular commenter (and lawyer) Cecil. She had this to say about Prozanski’s strategy:
Bike book with Portland roots at Powell’s tonight
Seattle writer Mike McCann will read his contribution from, “Cycling’s Greatest Misadventures” at Powell’s Books on Hawthorne (3723 SE Hawthorne) tonight at 7:30.
The book was just released by Casagrande Press and was edited by Erich Schweikher, a local cyclist and professor of composition at Portland Community College.
Schweikher spent a year collecting hundreds of submissions and ended up with 27 true stories with themes that include, “glorious crashes, raceday hijinks, devastating miscalculations, and unexpected animal attacks”.

Stolen Kona Humuhumunukunukuapua
This is a 1995/1996 Kona single speed cruiser that has an extra tube under the top tube that runs from the downtube to the seat post tube. It also has bmx-like rear drop-outs and Schwalbe Marathon tires, the back one being brand new. The basket on the front is the biggest Wald brand basket. There are stickers all over the bike, “bikes not bombs”, “what gas prices”, etc.
