Stolen GIANT Boulder Alu Lite

26 inch giant boulder alu lite in silver/blue. Has rainbow flag sticker near handlebars, hrc sticker (blue rectangle with yellow bars) near stem. Grips are pretty busted up. Needs new saddle-current one is red/black with tears and duct tape. has no front fender. has compass bell on handlebars, and front light stuck together with red tape. back light and reflector on stem. Fat tires. Very low back fender in black/silver. Some nicks, otherwise decent cond. Black metal bike cage. Stolen from in front of my door on porch around 6:30 pm. image is factory model. Vernonia poised to become "Velo-nia"

Trail advocate and planner Ric Balfour is spearheading an effort to transform the small town of Vernonia (about 45 miles west of Portland) into a cycling paradise.

The town already boasts the popular Banks-Vernonia Trail, a 20 mile Oregon State Parks trail between the towns of Banks and Vernonia, but Balfour sees much more potential and he’s working hard to create enthusiasm for bikes among the town’s 2,300 residents.

Presentation will recap SE Asia bike trip

[Patrick Cook-Deegan]

College student Patrick Cook-Deegan will be in Portland tomorrow night to speak about his “Cycle for Schools” bike ride he completed last summer in SE Asia.

He rode 2,800 miles across Laos, Cambodia and Burma and raised $22,500 under for the international literacy non-profit group, Room to Read, which used the money to build a school and a library in a small Laos village.

Cook-Deegan is currently taking this year off from school to speak throughout the country about the trip.
