Description: My bike is a bright red men’s Cannondale Cad4 Saeco edition about 10 years old. (I think the frame is a 157). I have done a lot to this bike over the past few years that hopefully will catch someones attention if they spot it. It was in excellent condition and very clean, It has mostly Dura Ace components including brakes, integrated shifters, and crank levers, however I replaced the rear derailleur with a Shimano XTR, I also put custom fenders on front and back, took off the water bottle cages, swapped my clip in pedals for plain silver non clip ones, and installed a rear rack . There were front led lights and 2 rear lights as well as 2 black and silver Ortlieb bags on the bike at the time it was taken.

Two years after serious stroke, David Auker to lead annual Thanksgiving ride
David Auker, a 62-year-old Portland resident who has been racing and riding in the Pacific northwest since the 1970s, will once again lead his annual Thanksgiving day ride tomorrow.
The ride was first held in 1997; but this year’s edition is especially sweet given that it comes just over two years after Auker suffered a serious stroke while on a ride and spent three weeks in the hospital. (I shared more about Auker and his road to recovery when I chatted with him and his friends at his birthday celebration back in January.)
Washington County Public Affairs forum will focus on bicycling
Want to get the latest about bikes in Washington County and hear from the west side’s major bike leaders?
Check out the press release below for more info…
On Monday December 3 the Washington County Public Affairs Forum will feature a program entitled “Bicycles: Transportation, Fitness and Fun in Washington County.” Speakers will include Hal Ballard of Transportation Solutions ByCycle; George Harris, America’s Wellness Sergeant; Mike Manning of Fit4Ever Wellness Studios; and Dick Schouten, Washington County Commissioner.
The PAF meets at the Old Spaghetti Factory, 18925 NW Tanasbourne Drive, across from the Evergreen movie theaters in Hillsboro. The doors open at 10:30, with a first lunch serving at 11:30 and a second at noon. The hour-long program begins at noon, and is open to the public. Members only have the opportunity to question speakers – sometimes the most interesting part of the program.
Founded in 1956, the Public Affairs Forum provides a common meeting place for the interchange of ideas and to stimulate thinking on civic matters, business, science, the arts and education. The Forum is a neutral arena; it endorses no particular point of view and takes no responsibility for the opinions expressed by speakers, which are not necessarily those of the Forum’s members or its Board of Directors. Programs are replayed on TVCTV Channel 21 Thursday at 6 am; Channel 28 Thursday at 10 pm, Friday at 6 pm and Sunday at 3 pm; and Channel 11 Monday at 10 am.

Portland’s cargo bike love and expertise spreads to Texas
workshop in Texas led by Portland resident Tom LaBonty.
(Photos: Tom LaBonty)
There are few things I love more than to see bike culture spread. It happens so frequently, I think, because people are passionate about bicycling and they can’t help but share it with others.
For southeast Portland resident Tom LaBonty, his passion is cargo bikes, and he just got back from Texas where he gave two-day workshop on how to build them. LaBonty was invited to Texas by Bike Friendly Oak Cliff (BFOC), a group of advocates based in Dallas (as part of their Cyclesomatic event). They learned about LaBonty after viewing “One Less Truck,” a documentary by Portland-based filmmaker Joe Biel.
