The 2009 National Bike Summit wrapped up on Friday. I’ll have my final thoughts and wrap-up in a separate post, but I thought I’d share a few select photos from my trip:

Nice, but beat THIS:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TULSA, OKLAHOMA REQUIRING ALL CITY EMPLOYEES TO DRIVE BICYCLES FOR ALL WORK TRIPS UNDER FIVE MILES, CARRYING LOADS UNDER 30 POUNDS:

WHEREAS, under State Statute Title 47 and Tulsa Revised Ordinance Title 37, bicyclists are drivers of vehicles that operate in traffic on public roadways;
WHEREAS, public roadways under City maintenance jurisdiction are more than adequate to handle increase bicycle traffic;
WHEREAS, healthcare costs for City employees will significantly decrease with healthier work-force, further saving taxpayers many more millions;
WHEREAS, the Bicycle Commuters Benefit Act provides tax incentives for bicycle commuting;
WHEREAS, it is City policy to encourage bicycling by resolution passed on 12 February 2009.

Section 1. All City employees are required to drive bicycles for work trips under five (5) miles, carrying loads under 30 pounds.
