The bicycle is a silver mens mountain or hybrid. There is a peoples food co-op bumper sticker on the left side of frame and light scuffs/scratches on both sides of the handlebar. It has no fenders but was taken with a burley child trailer hitch attached to the rear wheel. It also had front lights, and a side basket attatched to it.

Riding around Vancouver BC for the first time, I instantly felt like I was a respected part of the transportation system.
The family and I took to the city streets yesterday and experienced a pleasant, well-marked bike route. Vancouver has a network of secondary streets that are clearly signed and that prioritize bicycle traffic.
These bike streets have bicycle markings both on the roadway and on the main street name signs (I love that!). Similar in function to Portland’s small, bicycle-boulevard/wayfinding dots, Vancouver uses large bike symbols that seem to not only designate the route as bike-friendly, but end up acting like sharrows as well.
Silver/Clear in color. Black Specialized seat bag. Shimano 105 components. Shimano 105 pedals. Stock wheels/tires/bars.

Here’s your chance to work at Portland’s oldest bike shop. Weir’s Cyclery in St. Johns is looking for a mechanic. Here are the details:
City of Portland Transportation Commissioner (and possibly our future Mayor?!) Sam Adams wants you to join him for a special biker breakfast on Monday (9/24).
In the spirit of the Bike Commute Challenge (which they won in their category last year), Adams and his staff will set up a breakfast stop in North Portland on the corner of Vancouver and Russell from 7:30-9:00am.
Staffers say they’re on track to retain their title, but they want more company out in the bike lanes.
To try and entice more of you to join them (and to congratulate those of you already bike commuting), they’ll have free coffee (by Backbridge Coffee) and tasty treats (by Blue Gardenia Bakery).
Thanks Sam!
Bicycle and transportation advocates in New York City are ecstatic that their Department of Transportation plans to install a physically separated bike lane (a.k.a. “cycle track).
The news comes from Streetsblog:
Specialized Black 49 inch Globe with silver aluminum front and back fenders with black stripe. Also has a black rack on back. Brand New, purchased from River City Bikes in August 2007.
