Yesterday was the second birthday of BikePortland.org.
When I started this thing (it began as the “Bike Fun Blog” on OregonLive.com) I didn’t think it would end up like this.

The mysterious, Portland version of the Tour of Flanders sparked lots of interest last week.

Despite rainy skies, well over 100 bicycling bunnies joined the fourth annual Bunny on a Bike Ride yesterday. Head bunny Carye Bye and her trusty crew of volunteers led us on a circuitous route through northeast and southeast Portland.
Highlights of the route included a spin through Laurelhurst Park and a mid-ride stop for donuts, rhubarb pie, and tea at the Hawthorne Hostel.
As always, the response from passersby was priceless. They gawked, smiled, and waved at all the Easter-inspired outfits and bunny ears of every imaginable type.

Stolen Trek 5000
This is a 3 year old Trek 5000 Black with new Shimano Dura Ace Pedals and Aero Bars. It was taken sometime from my apartment on 25th & Raleigh the last two weeks in March.

Stolen Motobecane Grand Touring
This is a 1980’s grey Motobecane, the Grand Touring model. It was stolen on wednesday, april 4, from my house. It has puffy covers over the drop bars- not tape. Also, a new gel seat was recently put on it.

"Eric’s Law" would honor fallen cyclists
A bill that would require transportation departments to erect a memorial sign whenever “a cyclist is killed in an accident involving a motor vehicle” will get a hearing at the state capitol in Salem on Wednesday (4/11).
So far, 14 lawmakers have signed on as sponsors of House Bill 3020, which was created in response to the death last summer of Eric Kautzky.
