Man “intentionally” hits cyclists on SE Clinton

Here’s the word from the Oregonian blog (full story):

Portland police say a 46-year-old driver appears to have intentionally used his car to strike two bicyclists who were riding along Southeast Clinton Street this afternoon.

The cyclists, whom police haven’t yet identified (see below), were taken to Oregon Health Sciences University with non life-threatening injuries.

Local cyclist Michael Wolfe is on his way to Paris to compete in the 16th Paris-Brest-Paris Grande Randonée: a bike race with roots that go back to 1891.

Held every four years, the PBP is considered the most prestigious and celebrated randonneuring event in the world. Some 4,000 competitors will have 90 hours to complete the challenging 1200 kilometer course without any outside support.

This Saturday, New Belgium Brewery brings their eccentric brand of bike fun to Waterfront Park.

Their Tour de Fat is one of my favorite events of the year, and this time, it should be better than ever (and I’m not just saying that because they advertise with me).

In addition to their usually fun circus of freak bikes (the downtown parade is not to be missed), live music, and cold beer, this year the Sprockettes will take center stage. Yes, the ladies in pink have been touring with the Tour de Fat and this will be their homecoming performance.

Had a Siskiyou Cyclery sticker on the main tube. Front shock is slightly longer on one side and tire does not sit right without holding it straight and clamping the front tire hard.
