Shift’s Pedalpalooza is Portland’s annual version of BikeSummer. It’s 2 weeks of bike fun (June 8-24) that is without equal across the land. What makes it great is the boundless, creative, bike fun energy of people like you. That’s right, Pedalpalooza depends on events that are created and organized by the community! Shift is there to help, but the great rides come from individual cyclists.
Last year these included super-fun rides like the Bike Kiss-in, a Museum Ride, the Theater History Ride, a Musical Mystery Ride, and more. The possibilities are endless. For more ideas check out last year’s calendar, or read ride reports and check out photos on the ’05 Pedalpalooza Blog.
I just added a ride and noticed some pretty cool stuff already planned…including the Clown House Bikini Bike Wash! But there’s still tons of room for more rides, so what are you waiting for!?
The Shift web team has made adding an event easier than ever this year. Simply go to the 2006 Pedalpalooza calendar page and click “Add an event”. The rest is easy. The deadline to have your event show up in the snazzy printed calendar is April 10th. The bonus here is that the printed calendar is inserted into the Portland Mercury and gets passed out all over town.
Thanks for reading.

I have heard requests for a bike trailer building workshop. I would be happy to help out with this but first I want to connect with people who have experience building smaller trailers. I have only built large cargo trailers.

I would like to do a “how do you carry stuff” workshop which could be tied into this.
