JOB OVERVIEW

Cascade Bicycle Club seeks a seasoned sponsorship professional to lead its acquisition and fulfillment efforts. The position is part of a high-achieving, four-person development team including: a CFRE development director; a membership and development manager; and a membership and development coordinator. This is a full time, salaried position with frequent evening and weekend work required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Acquisition, contracting, fulfillment, reporting and stewardship of $400,000 in cash sponsorships (including $100,000 in new income) and $200,000 in in-kind sponsorships
Service a portfolio of 75 partners (including 25 highly active partners) and 20-30 prospective partners
Stay abreast of sponsorship best practices through participation in IEG and Advancement Northwest
Work in collaboration with multiple teams (primarily events teams and program staff) on contract fulfillment
Attend all bicycling events where major sponsors have a presence
Work in collaboration with communications team to ensure correct placement of logos and other contracted obligations in social media and publications
Work with sponsors to craft messaging for Cascade’s audiences

KEY PROPERTIES

The Bike Everywhere Breakfast (April/May – 1,000 people)
The Seattle to Portland (July – 10,000 riders)
Bike Month (May – 20,000 people)
12 additional recreational riding events ranging in size from several hundred to several thousand participants
Several other minor properties including 12 sponsor-wrapped trailers and bicycle education programs such as the Major Taylor Project and Basic of Bicycling
The Cascade Bicycling Center — current capital campaign includes several naming opportunities. Campaign ends year-end 2015

KEY COMPETENCIES

Creative, able to come up with out-of the-box ideas for sponsorship activation that feel authentic and add value for the sponsor and Cascade
Project Management – create and adhere to deadlines
Exceptional detail orientation for tracking and following leads
Familiarity with data tracking (spreadsheets as well as CRM), experience with Salesforce a plus
Customer service orientation
Strong oral and written communication skills
Fearless yet gracious
Experience in sales account management
Positive can-do attitude
Exceptional listening skills
Comfortable presenting to high level executives
Experience designing reports and proposals (InDesign or Publisher experience a plus)
Interest in cycling a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree
3+ years experience in sponsorship management
THE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The development team fosters important relationships with philanthropic organizations and individuals to raise the financial support needed for Cascade to run its programs and fulfill its mission. Our biggest fundraiser event is the Bike Everywhere Breakfast in May.
