Job Description *
Hood River’s oldest continually operating bike shop is looking for a chill but business-minded personality with excellent technical skills and customer service. The Service Manager position is also the Lead Tech role, which means you will be resonsible not only for scheduling, coordinating and completing repairs in a timely matter, but you will also manage and develop other service department staff during our peak business season from April to October. The service manager will coordinate with the ownership to order and maintain service inventory and supplies. As lead tech you will be responsible for training and advising other service staff of best practices and new technologies. You will also be expected to keep abreast of new products to assist sales staff and other mechanics as new products are brought in to the shop.

Other Responsibilities and Key Attributes
*Strong attention to detail with regards to offering customers most complete and effective service possible.
*Promote clear time standards for repairs and encourage staff to improve efficiency while maintaining highest quality work.
*Evaluate new products and make recommendations to ownership to increase potential sales in service department.
*Respond promptly to calls and emails from customers with clear and concise answers.
*Allocate work to service staff based on their skills and productivity.
*Applicant should have high level of knowledge working with suspension components and hydraulic brakes and also have wheel building competency.
*Applicant should have minimum of 3-5 years of bicycle service experience; management experience is plus.
