Job Description for Head Mechanic/Assembly

Breadwinner Cycles is looking for a detail oriented mechanic to help finish our custom builds at our Portland, Oregon shop. We are looking for someone who has 3-5 years experience working on Di2, eTap, hydro brakes and other high end bikes. Our crew at Breadwinner is tight knit and we work very well as a team. We are all incredibly passionate about cycling and encourage everyone to ride daily. We are looking for someone who is self starting and great at solving problems. Having great customer service and being friendly is a key quality in this job.

Head mechanic/Assembly —
Prep and quality control check frames, forks and small parts returning before and after paint, assemble complete bikes and install parts for partial builds. All mechanic work is to be performed at the highest level of professionalism with close attention to detail. Hours can be flexible and the shop is open from 8-5 M-F.

Small business tasks —
As a small and growing business, all team members must be willing to perform tasks outside of their job description and skill set from time to time. We work together as a team to keep the cafe and shop clean and presentable to our customers.

Pay Rate: $17/hr for up to 30 hours per week. Employee pricing on Breadwinner framesets and access to wholesale pricing from our vendors. Employees have perks at the Breadwinner Cafe next door including food discounts and free drip coffee.
Future wage increases will be based on semi annual performance reviews.

Vacation and self care —
We offer no PTO for part time positions but we encourage you to pursue adventure, competition, and relaxation and will remain flexible with your schedule. We ask that you give adequate notice when requesting extended days off so we can plan for work flow and staffing.

Health Insurance —
We currently do not offer health insurance coverage. This is something we plan to offer in the future since we value a healthy team.
