Update on stage race funding request
Today at City Council, Commissioner Sam Adams proposed an amendment to the city budget that would allocate $100,000 in seed money for a “Tour de Portland” style stage race.
Year-to-date bicycle citation stats
I just received the bicycle citation numbers from the Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division (the Traffic Division writes 80% of all tickets in the Portland metro area). I took the numbers and made a few charts.
Police propose bike lane law change
The current Oregon statutes governing the operation of a motor vehicle in a bike lane are confusing and unclear. The Portland Police Bureau found this out the hard way and they want to find a solution and have the laws fixed for good at the upcoming legislative session in Salem.
Last chance for November raffle
Today and tomorrow are the final days to enter November’s BikePortland Benefit Raffle. Thanks to the awesome guys at Cyclepath Bike Shop, up for grabs this month is a Redline 9-2-5 urban-assault, commuter bike.
