Job Title Demo Driver Sales/Tech Representative
Company/Organization Felt Bicycles
Primary responsibilities will be to support the Sales department with the operation, management and overall maintenance of a FELT Demo Vehicle and its product fleet. Drivers will be expected to assemble, disassemble, repair, and fit potential customers or retailers to bikes on location. Job focus is to help expose dealers and consumers to the Felt brand. General schedule will include travel to, and attendance of, key consumer and dealer events throughout the year. The specifics of each agenda will vary depending on whether it is a race, festival, dealer clinic or other, but the underlying goal of creating positive brand awareness with an eye towards supporting sales will remain the same in each case. When not traveling you will work closely with Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, either in FELT’s Irvine/Ontario, CA or Buffalo, NY location(s) depending on base.
General Duties and Responsibilities
*This position reports to Sales Management.
*You will be in charge of a FELT Demo Truck and Trailer and its entire related inventory. As a sales support mechanism, you will be asked to keep your vehicle(s) clean and maintained inside and out, and in ‘show condition’ at all events. All product inventory must be kept cleaned and maintained and in like-new condition before each event.
*You will be representing FELT Bicycles to our retailers and consumers. A professional image must be maintained at all times whether driving, at events, or with dealers. While on the road this is a 24/7 responsibility. How you handle yourself is an immediate reflection on our company and brand.
*You will be working with FELT’s local area sales representatives doing clinics with our retailers. There will be some occasions where you may not have the local area sales representative with you, but even without him/her the objectives remain the same. The primary function of the Sales Tech Representative is to explain who we are as a company and a brand, all with an eye on supporting and contributing to our sales goals.
*While not traveling you will be assisting the company’s overall goals and objectives. You may be asked to assist Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Product Development. Your feedback from the dealers you visit and events you travel to will be highly beneficial to various areas of the company. You may be asked to assist Sales by calling on dealers or Customer Service by taking care of dealers concerns.
*On an ongoing basis we may look for your feedback on how to make this effort even more successful for both you and FELT Bicycles.
Necessary Skills and Experience
*3(+) years as an accomplished shop or race mechanic.
*Full working knowledge of and comfortable presenting road, tri and/or mountain bikes.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
*Clean, professional appearance.
*Ability to work independently.
*Proficient in all Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
*Able to be “on the road” for 2(+) week periods at a time between Feb-Nov.
*A background and DMV check may be associated with this hiring.
