Zoobombers help re-design the Willamette Week

Buffered Bike Lane with a bike symbol and arrow pointing forward

Well, not exactly.

But reports are coming in that the Willamette Week (a free weekly newspaper in Portland) is running radio ads touting their new re-design and that one of them features a Zoobomber as the voiceover.

I haven’t heard it myself, but here’s how one tipster remembers it:

“I heard it on 95.5 (I stopped listening for several months after the unfortunate incident, and I never listen to that stupid “playhouse” show), anyways…

…a man comes on and says something along the lines of “before we designed the new look for the Willamette Week, we consulted some real Portlanders. We even talked to a Zoobomber.”

Then, some dopey sounding guy comes on and says “When you are flying down a hill on a bike made for a six year-old you gotta make sure you shit is tight, yo!” (they bleeped out the swear word).”

The ad has become a topic on the Zoobomb Forum where reactions so far seem to be mixed. Some are calling on a WWeek boycott, others say it’s just a gag and should be forgotten.

Have you heard the ad? What do you think?
