Next weekend (March 2-4) in San Jose the world’s best bicycle craftsmen will come together at the third annual North American Handmade Bicycle Show.

Portland will have a strong presence at the show this year with five exhibitors making the trip.

Headset and hub manufacturer Chris King Components, along with custom bike builders Ira Ryan, Tony Pereira, Joseph Ahearne and Sacha White will join an international list of exhibitors in showing off their latest and greatest creations.

For the builders, this show is a very big deal. There’s always a lot of publicity and buzz generated and there’s an expectation that they show off brand new, spectacular bikes.

attend the Handmade Bicycle Show March 2-4 in San Jose, CA.]

Since the builders are either solo or 2-3 man operations with growing demands on their businesses, that means this is both a stressful and exciting time of year as they hustle to get all their bikes made, painted and built in time for the show.

Over the next week, I’ll share brief interviews with each of them and give you some sneak peeks at their creations for the show.
