Last night, Juli and I picked the first-ever BikePortland.org Benefit Raffle winner. Here’s how it happened:
- I printed up the names of all the entrants (if you bought more than one ticket, your name got printed once for each ticket purchased).
- I cut up all the names and put them in big bowl.
- Juli threw up all the names in the air and grabbed one out of the sky.
And the name she picked was…John Duffy from Morrisville, Vermont! Congratulations John! I hope you enjoy the bike.
To everyone that bought tickets, I give you my most heartfelt gratitude. Your support came at a crucial time and I really could not continue this site without it.
The response to the raffle was very encouraging. It gave me new energy to continue to improve and build on the success of this site.
The raffle would not have happened without Raleigh Bicycles, based just north of us in Kent, Washington. They donated the awesome “One Way” bike and have been cool and easy to work with all along. Thank you Reed Pike for helping me put this together.
And again, thank you, to everyone who entered the raffle. I’d say it doesn’t matter who won because we’re all winners…but that’d be way too corny.
I think it’d be fun to do this again…what do you think? I’m already working on some great prize ideas…
