TerraCycle Inc., a locally based designer, manufacturer, and retailer of specialty recumbent parts and accessories has acquired Windwrap Fairings.
Windwrap makes fairings (a.k.a. windscreens) out of Lexan plastic and is a well-known brand in the recumbent world. Mark Mueller, founder of the company that makes Windwrap Fairings, started the business in 1998 and has always maintained his day job as a transportation engineer for CalTrans. In a press release about the deal, Mueller said:

“We’ve grown a lot over the years, and the demands of the business require increasing time and resources. Now it’s time someone who can make these an even better product to take things from here.”
TerraCycle president Pat Franz tells us his current staff of four employees will expand by more than one full time position to handle the extra work. “I may even need to hire more help once things get rolling.” TerraCycle has recently seen an uptick in demand for their Xtracycle compatible ‘Cargo Monster’ trike and chain tensioners. TerraCycle plans to expand the existing Windwrap fairing line and use their in-house CNC capabilities to improve the products.
