Bike Porn 3 trailer was released last night.

Portland’s bike porn provocateur “Reverend” Phil Sano is back on the road. Sano and his crew are on their 16 city “Chain Whip” tour showing Bike Porn 3: Cycle Bound (note: trailer is NOT safe for work).

Sano’s collection of short films features bikes and their people doing everything imaginable to each other. And, as you might expect, the screenings are raising quite a few eyebrows.

If you’re still scratching your head, check this excerpt from an interview with Sano that ran Salt Lake City, Utah’s weekly newspaper last week.

Why would a minister organize a pornography festival?

The nature of ministry is to preach about things people may have forgotten. One of the important lessons we seem to forget is, “What really makes us happy?” People enjoying their lives and feeling free to express themselves and being able to get around safely—that’s what makes people happy, and sexual intolerance makes people sad.

Poster for the tour’s stop in Boulder, CO tomorrow.

I caught up with Sano via email this morning to ask him how the show has been received.

In Boise, Idaho:

“The first rain of the season drowned out many of the would be bikers. Those that did show up where either really into it or really not. So about half of the tiny audience was out the door.”

In Ogden, Utah:

“The Ogden show was pretty glamorous. We had a totally 70’s porn multilevel home with a DIY micro theater packed to the gills in the basement. Although there was a lot of support, few of the viewers stayed for the entire show, those that did were giving an uproarious response.”

In Salt Lake City, Utah:

“The crowd was so loud. I kept wondering when they would become overstimulated and need some fresh air. Adding to the concern we had started an older version of Bike Porn 3 (the new version trims down the final movie by 10 minutes). Even in Portland, we had a substantial number of people leave the show. But in Salt Lake I think only two people got up the entire time. What a crowd, they were chanting and cheering for more. Plus we were able to raise over a hundered dollars for an injured cyclist who is recovering from a serious concussion.”

Sano and the Bike Porn crew head to Boulder, Colorado tomorrow night and plan to make stops in New Mexico, Nevada, and southern Oregon. Learn more at BikeSmut.com.
