Fixed-gear bikes are becoming more and more popular in Portland. They make great urban riding machines and are adored for their affordability, simplicity and durability. But for some local fixie lovers, they’re also just a lot of fun to ride.
Last week, a few of them started a “Flat Track” racing series. The weekly events happen at an undisclosed location each week on curvy, challenging courses (usually a figure-eight or oval) that test riders’ fitness and handling ability.
