As part of their Ambassadors Program, the Portland Development Commission will hold a forum to introduce Portland’s bicycle industry to the business community.
The event is slated for this Wednesday (4/4) at the Multnomah Athletic Club. It will be a panel discussion moderated by Oregonian columnist and Cycle Oregon founder Jonathan Nicholas. Here’s the verbage from the official invite:
-
Portland has a gold rating as a Biking Friendly Community –and it’s not just about the riders. Frame builders, suppliers, apparel manufacturers, component designers and others are developing the cycling industry’s potential as an economic driver for the region. We’ve asked representatives from the array of cycling-related businesses to provide a closer look at this exciting, emerging industry cluster.
Expected panelists include:
- Mia Birk, Alta Planning and Design
- Greg Cowan, Castelli (read my story on Castelli)
- Jerry Norquist, Cycle Oregon
- Jay Graves, Bike Gallery
This will be a great opportunity for the local business community to meet and get educated about the many bicycle-related companies and businesses in Portland.
