How often do you get an opportunity to have your opinions heard by millions of people around the world?
Tomorrow (3/22), the BBC will broadcast their “World, Have Your Say” radio program from the Bagdad Theater in southeast Portland.
This fantastic program is broadcast on OPB (Portland’s local NPR station) and is beamed around the globe by the BBC.
The folks behind this show are the real deal. They have a great blog (rare for big media) and their programs showcase real dialogue and sensitive issues.
I just listened to today’s broadcast from Harlem and it was full of heated discussions between regular people, and skillfully moderated by a fearless BBC journalist.
So why am I posting about this? It’s a great opportunity to share your perspectives on transportation, the environment, urban design, livable communities, carfree living, how bikes can change the world, etc…
They’ve posted about Portland on their blog (including a photo of some local Radical Cheerleaders!) and the comments are already pouring in.
Here are the details:
- Both of the events are, of course, free and you can reserve your ticket by emailing our partner station OPB (tickets[at]opb[dot]org).
Please state on your email if you would like to come to the Thursday or Friday show. We ask guests to arrive by 9am and the event will finish at 12 noon. Friday 23 will come from the OPB television studios and we hope you’ll come along to hear our debates on the World’s news and with particular focus on the environment.
Check the BBC website for more details.
