City asks for input on bike rental RFP

As I reported last month, Commissioner Adams is serious about bringing a bike rental program to Portland.

I just got an email from Max Coffman from Adams’ office. He has just published the Request for Proposals (RFP) for a potential bike rental system in Portland.

Here’s an excerpt from the post:

“On a trip to Lyon, France last Spring, Sam experienced the Vélo’v short-term bike rental system. Automated kiosks around Lyon give users access to well-maintained bicycles that they can return to any of the secure stations in the system. The Lyon system has over 2000 bicycles, which are used for more than 22,000 rentals per day, and make up a pollution-free component of the city’s public transport system.”

He’s asking for public input, so go check it out.
