Wendy Williams — of the River City Bicycles cyclocross team — has won the women’s Masters 35-39 National Championship title at Cyclocross Nationals held today in Providence, Rhode Island.

This caps an exceptional year for Williams, who has ridden consistently at the top of the pack throughout the cyclocross season. She finished 1st or 2nd in each of the six Cross Crusade series races and finished 2nd overall, close behind former U.S. World’s team member and fellow Portlander, Rhonda Mazza.

Williams, who is also a River City employee, follows in the footsteps of Shannon Skerritt, who won the Men’s Masters National Championship title last year.

Nice work Wendy…I look forward to seeing the trophy next time I’m in the shop!

[I’ll post an update on other Portlanders at Cyclocross Nationals once results are available. The event runs from today through Sunday.]
