Molly Cameron — owner of The Veloshop — somehow finds time to not only run her bustling downtown bike shop, but she also competes at the highest levels of U.S. cyclocross racing.

Coming off a top ten overall finish in the Cross Crusade series and a whirlwind season that included successful trips to races in Michigan, Massachusetts, Colorado and Philadelphia, Cameron will press on into her third month of ‘cross competition with her first-ever trip to Europe.

After a stop in Rhode Island for five races beginning this Saturday (including the National Championships), she’s off to Belgium to battle the world’s best ‘cross racers. Her grueling schedule includes nine races in ten days, the World Cup, and some of the most famous ‘cross races in all of Europe.

“I’m really just excited to be exposed to such a high-level of the sport…I’d be thrilled to make it into the top 30-40.”

She’ll be traveling with a local mechanic for tech support and her trip was made possible by Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Vanilla Bicycles. Both local companies “really stepped up” to make the trip happen.

We all wish you the best of luck Molly! You’ve had an amazing season already and we look forward to reading about the trip on your blog. Have fun and ride hard.
