Filmed by Bike is coming! See the trailer, the poster and buy your tickets

The 14th annual Filmed by Bike is right around the corner. The big event is May 6th – 8th at the Hollywood Theater and tickets went on sale today. Also today, organizers released the promotional trailer and poster — both of which are Filmed by Bike traditions and reflect the event’s growth into bona fide arts and cultural event.

According to event director and founder Ayleen Crotty, the trailer was shot in one day in downtown Hood River with a cast and crew of 35 volunteers. It features several familiar faces from the Portland bike scene including: Jocelyn Gaudi from Komorebi Cycling Team, former bike messenger-turned cargo bike enthusiast Mike Cobb; Kevin Schmidt from bike-centric physical therapy business Pedal PT; and Meghan Sinnott from Nutcase Helmets and the World Naked Ride (among many other projects). The trailer was created by filmmaker and Hood River resident Manny Marquez. Learn more about him on the Filmed by Bike website.

This year’s poster was designed by Donovan Pierce. Check it out below…

If you love bikes you’re going to love the Filmed by Bike schedule this year. The buzz we’re hearing from this year’s films is off the charts and there are parties, swag, and good times galore in store. It all starts with the New Belgium Street Party and Opening Night on Friday May 6th at Velo Cult Bike Shop and Tavern.

New to the festival this year is a VIP Program presented by Portland Design Works. The $55 VIP pass gets you unlimited access to all the shows as well as a Filmmaker Brewery Tour, an exclusive screening, special Q & A sessions with visitin filmmakers, swag and more.

Crotty says this year’s collection of movies has a “huge emphasis on adventure films and tales of amazing feats on the rugged road.” With its May date, Filmed by Bike is sure to inspire many summer adventures. Get your tickets and learn more at FilmedByBike.org.
