Wednesday Video Roundup: Cyclocross, Chernobyl and more

Editor’s note: Welcome to the first of a new feature from BikePortland contributor Ted Timmons, a lover and observer of bike culture in Portland and around the world who’s volunteered to try out something new on the site. We’re featuring at least the first post here on the Front Page. Take it away, Ted.

I watch a lot of bicycle- and transit-related videos, so this is an experiment on sharing them with BikePortland. They will be at least tangentially bicycling-related, and should enthuse, entertain, educate, or enrage you.

To kick us off, River City Bikes put up a great video of the recent Cascade Locks cyclocross race. The music is loud but entertaining:

Downhill mountain biker Nicholi Rogatkin had a Red Bull-sized crash this week. He’s okay, but this may cause some viewers to cringe:

Adventurer Lucas Brunelle cycled Chernobyl, here’s a trailer for the documentary:

The latest Monday Roundup mentioned Oslo removing cars from the city by 2019. UK cycling show GCN discussed this at the beginning of a recent episode. There’s mention of Portland around 1:45. (warning: mild adult-oriented visual humor at 3:40)

Portlanders, occasional BikePortland contributors and photo/video experts Russ and Laura are kicking off a Path Less Pedaled video series, which will be aimed at bike camping, bike fishing, and other dirty activities:

Finally, for those who like to spin the turbo trainer when it gets wet in Portland, there’s a new Sufferfest video coming out on Friday:

Inclusion criteria: If I’ve missed something, post it in the comments! I’m trying to only include videos published in the last week or so. Note if there’s a specific point in a long video that is worth highlighting. Also note if there is colorful language. When it gets to spring, I may add a rule to deal with spoilers.
