Always great to hear when a local business gets one of the highest possible bike-friendly rankings from the League of American Bicyclists. Check out the news below from Pedal PT (and stop by and say hi next time you roll by SE 25th and Clinton):
Wednesday, April 22, 2015, the League of American Bicyclists recognized Pedal PT with a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Business award, joining more than 950 visionary businesses from across the country. Pedal PT is extremely honored, as the in-depth application process, business evaluation and scoring takes almost a full year to complete.
With the announcement of 161 new and renewing BFBs today in 46 states and Washington, D.C., Pedal PT joins a cutting-edge group of more than 950 local businesses, government agencies and Fortune 500 companies across the United States that are transforming the American workplace. This year Oregon added 5 more businesses to the list.
“Visionary business leaders are recognizing the real-time and long term impact that a culture of bicycling can create,” said Andy Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists. “We applaud this new round of businesses for investing in a more sustainable future for the country and a healthier future for their employees.”Since opening in August 2012, Pedal PT has continually encouraged bicycling as an easy option for transportation by providing amenities such as secure indoor bike parking, bicycling maps + information, free bike maintenance classes as well as monthly incentives for employees who bike.
When our employees bike, great things happen: we create a healthy + productive work environment, help reduce our carbon foot print, and promote a community supportive of alternative transportation options. Looking into the future, with resources from the League and support from our community we strive to become even more bicycle-friendly.
Pedal PT joins six other Oregon businesses that have reached the Gold designation. Oregon has two businesses at the highest level of Platinum, 15 businesses at the Bronze level, and 14 that are Silver. Learn more about the League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Business program here.
