Sweetpea Bicycles and Gladys Bikes Join Forces to Get More Women on Bikes

PORTLAND, OR – Natalie Ramsland (owner, Sweetpea Bicycles) and Leah Benson (owner, Gladys Bikes) are excited to announce their new partnership: As of October 2014, Gladys Bikes will be the sole dealer of Sweetpea Bicycles, making it even easier for women to get on a bike that will fit them beautifully.

“My mission is getting more women on bikes that fit. Working with Gladys has been a wonderful opportunity to work with and learn from a greater variety of female cyclists than the typical custom bike buyer. It’s been really gratifying to see how our mutual attention to the relationship between women and their bikes strengthens both of our businesses.” – Natalie Ramsland

“It’s a natural collaboration, both our businesses have similar goals of supporting and enhancing women’s experience with bicycles. Beyond that, it doesn’t hurt that we both really enjoy working with each other. We appreciate each other’s businesses and have a lot fun with what we do and we’re excited to share that enthusiasm with our customers.” – Leah Benson

Natalie, who is also the in-house bicycle fitter at Gladys Bikes, will continue to design and perform fittings on all Sweetpea bicycles, while Leah and her team at Gladys Bikes will act as the point of contact for all Sweetpea customers — guiding them through the fit and purchasing process, building each bike, providing on-going service and addressing any questions or concerns along the way.

“Gladys Bikes has a knack for making bike buying simple and delightful. So, when I reached my capacity in delivering complete custom bikes, partnering with Gladys seemed like a wonderful solution. This change allows me to focus on fitting, designing and dreaming up bikes while giving customers connection to a home shop and community of riders.” – Natalie Ramsland

“For local customers, this is partnership will be especially nice as they will now have a relationship with a shop where they can bring their Sweetpea back to for regular maintenance, upgrades and repair work.” – Leah Benson
