The Community Cycling Center’s commemoration if their 20th year just went to a whole new level. The beloved bike advocacy group announced today that Portland’s iconic Voodoo Doughnuts has created a special menu item in their honor: the bike doughnut.

From now until August 2nd, not only can you order and eat a doughnut featuring your favorite transportation mode, you can do so while knowing that a portion of the purchase price is being donated to the CCC.

Voodoo founder Tres Shannon said in a statement today that he wanted to do this because, “There’s nothing like the joy of getting your first bike and the freedom it entails.” And there also seems to be nothing like biking and eating doughnuts, as Mr. Shannon’s pink boxes have helped fuel countless rides over the years.

If you’re interested, the CCC tells us their bike doughnut is filled with chunky apple filling and topped with vanilla frosting. I’ll take a dozen!

Roll over to Voodoo at 22 SW 3rd (downtown) or their northeast location at 1501 NE Davis to get yours today (and tomorrow, and the day after that if you’d like).
