Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee seeks two members

Vancouver, WA – The Board of County Commissioners is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Clark Communities Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

The committee serves as an advisory group to the commissioners on matters relating to bicycle and pedestrian planning, funding and implementation of the county’s bicycle and pedestrian master plan. The group reviews future road construction and private development projects to ensure safety for people who travel on foot or by bicycle.

Applicants should have knowledge of or interest in walking and cycling-related issues, and be committed to preparing for and attending monthly meetings. Meetings typically are held 6-8 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

People from the following groups or with the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply: Volksmarchers; Vancouver Bicycle Club; people dependent on transit and/or bicycles for transportation; bicycle commuters; recreational cyclists; students; neighborhood group members; and, people interested in mobility issues.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18.
