The Oregon Handmade Bicycle Show will leave Portland for the first time. Organizers announced today that the 2011 edition of the event will take place in Bend, Oregon on October 29-30th. The event will also coincide with Bend’s Day of the Dead Cyclocross Festival, which this year boasts the ever-popular Halloween edition of the Cross Crusade.
The OHBS is a fundraiser for the Portland-based non-profit Oregon Bicycle Constructors Association. At last year’s show, the OBCA hosted 40 bike builders from throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest and over 2,500 people attended the two-day event.
The OBCA’s Dave Levy (the man behind Ti Cycles), said via a statement that, “This is a great opportunity to showcase the talents of Oregon’s bicycle builders in a new region of the state and we’re confident our partnership with Visit Bend and the Cyclocross Crusade will increase the attendance of our biggest fundraiser of the year.”
The event will feature a two-day exhibition of custom bicycles and “related artisanal bicycle products” as well as seminars for builders and the public, entertainment, and more.
