A re-paving project will close two blocks of SE Division for two weeks beginning this Monday (12/6) later this month. The work, which the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) announced today, means all vehicle traffic from Division (an arterial) will be detoured onto SE Lincoln and Clinton — both of which are key east-west bikeways.
PBOT will detour westbound traffic north on SE 42nd SE 52nd, west onto SE Lincoln, and then south onto SE 50th and back to SE Division. Eastbound traffic will be detoured south onto SE 50th, east onto SE Clinton, north onto SE 52nd, and back to SE Division. The closures on Division will only take place from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm on weekdays.
In their traffic advisory, PBOT notes that, “The public is advised to expect delays and travel cautiously in the work zone. Motorists and bicyclists are advised to use alternate routes.”

UPDATE: PBOT just cancelled this traffic advisory, saying that the work will be “delayed until after the holidays.”
