All the pieces to the big Bike to Blazers event are coming together. The rally, ride, and mini-expo at the Rose Quarter are all set.
The big news is that the bike section is sold out! We had 100 seats reserved and they’re all gone. This means we’ll have one rocking and bike-loving group of fans to cheer on our home team and send them into the playoffs with a bang. It also means that the other 20,000 Blazer fans in attendance will get a not-so-subtle hint that biking to the game is not just possible, but it can be a ton of fun too!

But this event isn’t just about watching the game. A number of people plan to join us just for the rally, the ride, and the pre-game bike fun zone in front of the arena.
The other big news is that the location of the pre-game rally has been changed. We are now meeting at Salmon Street Fountain in Waterfront Park, just north of the Hawthorne Bridge. This will make our ride to the game much easier for everyone (we’ll ride along the Esplanade and then cross the Steel Bridge, then roll into the arena via green bike lanes through the Rose Quarter Transit Center).
At the rally, we’ll hear from local notables and I’ll give the mic to anyone who wants to share their favorite Blazer memory. I’ll also emcee a Bill Walton look-alike contest. The winner will get a very rare, autographed Bill Walton helmet. So get out those headbands, long white tube socks, crutches (kidding, sort of), and other Walton-esque touches.
