Trio of photo contests ask for your best bike shots

Add this to the growing number of signs that the Northwest is absolutely going crazy for bikes. In the past week or so I’ve heard about not one, not two, but three different photo contests looking for bike-related images. Here’s a quick roundup…

Wend Magazine will feature only bike-inspired photos during the month of August. Wend features a Friday Photo each week that highlights the outdoor splendor of the Pacific Northwest. But this month, they want your best bike shots. Weekly winners will get a pair of Keen Footwear SPD-compatible shoes. A Keen messenger bag will go to the Grand Prize winner. More details at WendMag.com.

Portland-based Showers Pass — makers of ultra-popular cycling rainwear — are looking for photos of their products in action for use in their 2010 catalog. Winners will receive 30% off their next purchase from Showers Pass, and a few copies of the catalog to show off to friends. More details on the Showers Pass blog.

Online magazine Bicycling Northwest has teamed up with Pro Photo Supply for their Summer 2009 Bike Photo Contest. You can sumbit photos into five categories. The winner in each category will get a Canon PowerShot Digital Camera and the Grand Prize winner will get Canon Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera Kit. More details at BicyclingNorthwest.com.

Get out there and take your best shots. May the best bike photos win!
