BikeCraft IV is just around the corner! Wednesday, December 10th, at Roots Organic Brewing (on SE 7th, just south of Hawthorne). The event is in Roots’ great new space next door to the regular bar, and will go from 5:30 until closing time.

BikeCraft is our fourth annual emporium of bike-related crafts, fashion, art, and more — all handmade right here in Portland. Come do some holiday shopping for the bicycle lovers in your life — then stick around to enjoy a beer (brewed on the premises!), win raffle prizes, and enjoy the company of other bikey locals.

Here’s a quick preview of just a few of the people and crafts who will be there. There are a lot of amazing vendors again this year — many returning from last year, and some exciting new faces. Stay tuned for more updates about who will be coming.

New Vendors:

Gram Shipley’s leather mudflaps.

Gram Shipley (you might remember his awesome scraper bike) decided to make himself a set of leather mudflaps a couple years ago. Then all his friends wanted a set. Then his coworkers. Then strangers on the street. After a lot of playing around with production, design, and materials, he is debuting these sturdy beauties at BikeCraft IV, under the company name Ful-Floating, Ful-Kustom.

A sticker by Rebecca James

Rebecca James of Upcycle 27, another new face, creates handmade patches, pins, stickers, zines, and “upcycled” goods out of old banners and signs that she finds discarded.

Several other new crafters are in the lineup — I’ll let you know more about them soon.

Other new participants include several artists with bike-themed paintings and photos, including:

Also be on the lookout for these returning vendors:

The vendors are still rolling in — I’m looking forward to introducing you to the rest.

There is still room for more vendors, so drop me a line at elly[at]bikeportland[dot]org if you’re interested in joining the fun.
