This year’s Multnomah County Bike Fair (this Saturday, 6/23) will surely be the biggest and baddest bike event of the year. Where else can you celebrate an epic Pedalpalooza, watch unicycle jousting (and other awesome competitions), marvel at bike dance troupes, buy bikey arts and crafts, marry your bike, meet lots of great folks, and much more?
Well all that fun takes volunteers to pull off.
The word on the street is that the MCBF crew could use a few extra hands. Here are all the details from volunteer coordinator VJ Beauchamp:
“The Fair is just a couple days away, and we are still painfully short on volunteers for several shifts.
So please. Volunteer for the 3:30-6 or the 5:30-8 shift. You’ll have a great time. You’ll meet fun/crazy/silly people. You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve done your part. You’ll get a T-shirt (or, if you’re 21, the option of free beer).
If you work the 5:30-8 shift, you’ll learn all about the suuper-secret afterparty party with all sorts of crazyness, fire dancing, and beer. You’ll get pizza too.”
Check out the MCBF wiki page for more details.
To volunteer, send an email to Vickie Jean at vickijean(at)gmail(dot)com.
The fun starts Saturday at 2:00 at Colonel Summers Park at SE 20th and Belmont.
