Remember that group from Austin, Texas I wrote about in March?

Well, they’re on tour and they’ve set up shop at 318 SW Taylor Street in downtown Portland. Pink calls themselves a “love courier service” and I stopped by today to find out more.

I met Jaclyn today and she (along with her staff) were busily getting ready for tonight’s volunteer orientation and opening work party.

Jaclyn said they’ll be deliver love notes throughout the city by foot and by bike. Anyone can walk into the love factory, order a note, create the note and then the folks at Pink will hand-deliver it.

The service, and “site-specific art installation” will spread love throughout Portland.

On Monday morning, Jaclyn will host a bus load of school kids on a field trip from Nellie-Muir Elementary School in Woodburn. They’ll help create love letters and then deliver them downtown.

Pink needs lots of volunteers. If you’d like to learn more and get involved, don’t miss tonight’s volunteer orientation and (work) party. It starts at 7:00 with a showing of a short documentary about the project (stop by on your way to Bike Porn at the Clinton Street Theater).
