Mark Bosworth was an employee of Metro and Cycle Oregon volunteer who went missing from the event in September 2011. He has never been found.
His family established a scholarship fund to provide entry fees to people for the Cycle Oregon Classic ride that Mark loved so much. Below are this year’s winners.

We are proud to award riderships to Keni Bartley, Lisa Anderson, and Margaret Stanny in our fifth year of honoring Mark Bosworth with this grant fund!
Kendall (Keni) Bartley
Ashland, ORKeni is a young woman who decided at age 21 to invest herself in cycling and now — a few years later — she’s ready for the challenge of Cycle Oregon. For Keni, cycling is about finding community and dedicating herself to a healthy and holistic lifestyle. She hopes to be able to motivate others to push beyond their mental and physical expectations and encourage others to join activities without fear.
Lisa Anderson
Sparks, NVLisa is a woman in her 50s, who wants to ride Cycle Oregon this year to be an example of positive thinking and proof that life changes are possible to make, no matter your age. In the past five years, Lisa has had 2 hip replacements, lost 163 pounds, and completed multiple ironmans and triathalons. This self-employed manicurist from Nevada will be riding for the legacy of Mark Bosworth.
Margaret Stanny
Eugene, ORMargaret is a new Oregonian, having just recently relocated to Eugene from the Midwest — what better way to welcome this cycling fanatic to our beautiful state! Margaret rides for the challenge, the camaraderie, and for the meditative peace that comes when she finds that right pace and cadence. Margaret’s relationship with cycling changed ten years ago with the loss of a loved one in a road accident. She will be riding Cycle Oregon in his honor and on a bike donated from the Wabash River Cycling Club in honor of a lost member.
